How do I now which size of Smart Chock to order for my bike?
Unlike many wheel chocks that are currently being sold on the market today, Smart Chock is fully adjustable for the different tire sizes without purchasing any extra or special adapters. When you purchase a Smart Chock you have it all, for all your bikes. You will only need to purchase another Smart Chock if you need to secure more than I motorcycle at a time.

Can I use Smart Chock on my rear tire?
Because of the lower fenders over the rear tires and some of the rear tires being so wide, it is possible to do but you would have to check for clearances for your particular motorcycle. If the clearances are there, than yes, a rear tire will work in the chock.

Do I have to tie my bike down when I am transporting it?
Yes, you must use tie down straps to hold your bike down, forward, and into the Smart Chock.

Do I have to fasten the Smart Chock to the floor when in my pickup truck, van, or trailer?
Yes, although Smart Chock can be used freestanding on the ground, during transport there are many extra directions of force which will cause the Smart Chock to move around and slide.

What type of maintenance is required for the Smart Chock?
The only things that need attention is keeping the shaft lubricated with a light oil and always making sure that the bolts are in place and kept tight.

When I put my bike into the Smart Chock should I leave it in neutral?
You can leave the bike in neutral, but we recommend leaving the bike in gear because the only way for the bike to exit the chock is backwards. Leaving the bike in gear will prevent a backwards rollout. Make sure to use the clutch when starting your bike as not all bikes are equipped with a safety neutral switch.

Why do the capturing shoes open when I put my bike into the Smart Chock?
The Smart Chock has been incorrectly assembled. Take the chock apart and put the left shoe on the right, and the right shoe on the left. The shoes must move towards each other upon entry, applying a clamping action.

Do I have to purchase the quick release mounting kit to install Smart Chock into my pickup truck, van, or trailer?
No, you may use 3/8 bolts, washers, and nuts in place of our mounting kit. Our kit just makes it a lot easier because you won't have to find anyone to help you each and every time. One guy holding the bolt inside the trailer and another tightening the nut under the trailer etc.

Can I replace the bolts in the cams with a pin and clip so that I don't have to use tools to make width adjustments for different bikes?
Yes you may use 5/16" X 2" pins and clips in the cams only, to speed up adjustments when using one Smart Chock for different size and type bikes. However the brackets that fasten the shaft assembly to the tubular frame must have bolts and nuts to hold the structure rigid.

Why does the Smart Chock not come with the pins and clips for quick adjustments?
The bolt and locking nut that is supplied in the hardware kit can not just fall off like a clip being overlooked on a pin. The whole point of this product is securing your motorcycle without failure. The manufacturer does not what the consumer to use a weak link in the chain but supplying a not so good fastening alternative, we leave that up to the consumer to decide.
